Former parish church of St. Helen

The former parish church, located half a mile south of Longhorsley was rebuilt in 1783 on the foundations of a much older medieval building and on the site of an Anglo Saxon church.[1] The church was abandoned in 1966 and is now derelict. The graveyard of the former church is still in use. A new Church of St Helen's was established in the village in 1966 by converting the former village school on West Street into a church. In 1981 the porch from the old church of 1783 was dismantled and rebuilt on the new church.[1] The old church is a Grade 2 listed building on the National Heritage List for England.
