Former Hodbarrow Mining Company Offices
The former offices if the Hodbarrow Mining Company are located in Steel Green, Haverigg. They were built in 1873 and are significant for being the last remaining building of Hodbarrow Mine, which was the world's largest iron mine in the late 19th century.[1] The mine closed in 1968. For many years the building was a pub/restaurant called The Comadore. From December 2016 it has been HerdwickS, a bistro with guest accommodation.[2] This is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
