Derwent Vale Primary and Nursery School

Derwent Vale Primary and Nursery School is located off Rosemary Gardens, at the north end of the village of Great Clifton in Cumbria. It is a community school with about 110 pupils aged 3 to 11.[1] The current school building dates from 1995. It replaced an earlier school on William Street (built near William Pit), originally built in 1883 as the Board school for Great and Little Clifton - School Boards were established across England and Wales to set up and run schools, following the Elementary Education Act of 1870. The old school building was later converted to be a dwelling.
