Dalemain

Dalemain is a large country house, located about ½ mile south of the village of Stainton, Dacre, and about 2½ miles south-west of Penrith, in Cumbria. This is an ancient site occupied since Anglo Saxon times, situated near a ford over the River Eamont. A Pele Tower was recorded here in the 12th century. The current building dates from the 15th century, with 16th century additions, and 17th century alterations. It was extended in the mid-1730's and has the initials E.H. over the entrance (Edward Hasell).[1] Dalemain is a Grade I listed building on the National Heritage List for England.
