Cockermouth School

Cockermouth School is located on Castlegate Drive, on the north-east edge of Cockermouth, near the River Derwent. The school has about 1,320 students aged 11 to 18.[1] Cockermouth School was formed in 1984, by the merger of Derwent School (established 1958) and Cockermouth Grammar School. The school operated on two sites until 1991, when the former Derwent School site was extended, and the former Grammar School site, on Strawberry How, was closed. Cockermouth School converted to an academy in 2015. Cockermouth Eco Centre is a low carbon break out space for the school.
