Church of Saint Bega, Eskdale Green

"This little church was built by Lord Rea at the beginning of the last century to help those who lived in the village. The church has a village hall built below the main part of the church, which is well used by the local community. The church space also acts as The Discover Eskdale Centre, this display is a fabulously illustrated view into the life, times and landscape of Eskdale throughout the ages. The centre was opened by Eric Robson in the presence of the Mayor of Copeland. On certain days the church is home to a mobile Post Office." (Eskdale The Lake Districts Hidden Gem, Website). Located in Eskdale Green, St Bega’s mission church was originally opened in 1890[1].
