Chester New Bridge, near Lambton Castle
Chester New Bridge is a single-track road bridge over the River Wear, located to the east of Chester-le-Street and about 1 mile west of Lambton Castle. The east end of the bridge has an arched gateway leading on to Black Drive into Lambton Park. The stone bridge is thought to date from the 15th century, with later changes and a partly-rebuilt parapet. The bridge is Grade II* listed on the National Heritage List for England. The bridge straddles the parishes of Chester-le-Street and Bournmoor.
