Burn Tongues, Northumberland

Burn Tongues is a farm in Keenley, Northumberland. It is located off Common Bank (road), about 2 miles west of Allendale Town. The farm is situated by Burntongues Burn. Whellan's 1855 directory of Northumberland lists Burn Tongues under the grieveship of Keenley in the ancient parish of Allendale, and the farmer at that time was William Stobart.[1]. Today, Burn Tongues is part of Allendale Civil Parish. The Old Stable here has been converted for residential use.
