Bowburn Primary School

Bowburn Primary School is located on Crowtrees Lane in Bowburn. The community school has about 370 pupils aged 2 to 11. Bowburn Primary School was formed by the amalgamation of Bowburn Infants and Nursery School (Wylam Street) and Bowburn Junior School (Surtees Avenue) in September 2019. Initially the school was spread over the 2 sites of the old schools, but work on a new school building, on the playing field at the junior site, began in February 2020. The new school building opened on the 19th April 2021 on schedule, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
