Bow Bridge, near Furness Abbey


Bow Bridge is a 15th Century multi-span bridge over Mill Beck, located about ¼ mile south east of Furness Abbey. It was built by the monks of Furness Abbey to give access to their New Mill., a short distance upstream. Traces of the mill-race can be seen to the west of the bridge adjacent to a railway embankment. Bow Bridge is a Scheduled Monumenrt.
