Boer War Memorial, Carr Ellison Park


A memorial to seven local men men who were killed in the Boer War of 1899-1902 was built on a mound adjacent to the Dell in Carr Ellison Park, Hebburn. It was funded by public subscription. The memorial was unveiled in 1905 and consists of a globe showing the outline of Africa on a draped tapering column, all in polished dark grey granite.
