Allensgreen, Bardon Mill

Allensgreen (aka Allen's Green) is a farm / hamlet in Northumberland, located about 1½ miles south-west of Bardon Mill. It is situated near Allensgreen Burn. There was once a medieval settlement of Allensgreen (deserted).[1] Whellan's 1855 directory of Northumberland lists Allen's Green as a hamlet in Ridley Township in the ancient paridsh of Haltwhistle - with principle resident at that time being Nicholas Lowes, Esq.[2]
