67 Westgate Road


67 Westgate Road in Newcastle was built in the mid-late 18th century as a house. The house formerly belonged to University College, Oxford, and was leased by them to Sir M.W. Ridley, Bart. for use as his town house. Ground floor shop fronts were added in the 19th century. The building, known as Westgate Chambers, now (2023) hosts Newcastle Arts Centre, La Chocolatrice (school of chocolate) and upstairs is Exit Newcastle (escape game). 67 Westgate Road is Grade II listed on the National Heritage list for England.
