National:

  • 19th July 2021 - what some called "Freedom Day", when most Covid-19 pandemic-related legal restrictions were lifted in England.

In Northern England:

  • 19th April 2021 - Bowburn Primary School new building opens
  • 9th July 2021: Dunelm House (Students' Union building at Durham) added to National Heritage List for England, following campaign to save it.
  • 12th September: the 40th Great North Run held (cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic). 57,000 runners took part in 'GNR40'.
  • 27th November 2021: Storm Arwen hits Scotalnd and the North East of England coast

Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria. Co-Curate is a trans-disciplinary project that will open up 'official' museum and 'un-officia'l co-created community-based collections and archives through innovative collaborative approaches using social media and open archives/data.
