18-24, Grey Street, Newcastle


Nos. 18-24 (even numbers) Grey Street was built in 1836, designed by John Dobson for Richard Grainger as part of the redevelopment of the centre of Newcastle from 1824-1841. It was built as shops and houses, and was later a bank, and now offices. There are 4 floors, plus attics, and 5 bays. The ground floor was remodelled in c.1890 by W. L. Newcombe. The interior of the building was rebuilt c 1981. Nos. 18-26 are Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. < Nos. 26-32
