Wormanby


Wormanby is a farm / hamlet located about ½mile south-east of Burgh by Sands in Cumbria. It is situated to the east of Powburgh Beck. Wormanby Holsteins is a dairy farm. The farmhouse at Wormanby dates from 1772. In addition to the farm, Wormanby House here also dates from the 18th century, and is a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England. Wormanby is located by the course of Hadrian's Wall; the road to Burgh by Sands here is part of Hadrian's Cycleway (National Cycle Route 72). Hadrian's Wall Path national walking trail runs a short distance north of the farm buildings.
