This war memorial is located by the juncrion of North Road East and New Cross Road in Wingate. The memorial was commissioned by the Wingate Rememberance Group.

We salute with pride

the bravery and sacrifice
of the young people of
who served their country
in wartime and
died on active service

- During the First World War the Illustrated Chronicle published photographs of soldiers and sailors from Newcastle and the North East of England. These have been made available by Newcastle Libraries.
