War Memorial, Mealsgate

The parish war memorial stands in the churchyard of the All Hallows Church in Mealsgate. The memorial commemorates 16 local servicemen who lost their lives in the First World War. It was designed by the masons Rogerson of Carlisle, and unveiled and dedicated on the 30th of May 1920. Later, the names of 6 local men who were killed in the Second World War were added to the memorial. The memorial had the lettering on its inscriptions restored, following a grant from the War Memorials Trust in 2014. The memorial is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England
