War Memorial, Dent
The war memorial in Dent is located at the south of St Andrew's Church. The memorial, in the form of a wheel cross, was built to commemorate 19 local servicemen who lost their lives in the First World War. It was unveiled in the autumn of 1921, and after the service surviving ex-Servicemen were presented with a gold medal by Lord Henry Cavendish-Bentinck, MP.[1] After the Second World War, the names of a four local men who died in that conflict were added to the memorial. The memorial is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
