Todridge Township, 1848


TODRIDGE, a township, in the parish of Hartburn, union, and W. division of the ward, of Morpeth, N. division of Northumberland, 3 miles (W.S.W.) from Hartburn; containing 6 inhabitants. It comprises about 60 acres of a good arable soil, formerly the property of Newminster Abbey, and now tithe-free.

Historically, Todridge was a township in the ancient parish of Hartburn. Todridge became a civil parish in 1866, following the Poor Law Amendment Act. It had a population of 10 at the time of the 1951 Census. In 1955, Todridge Civil Parish was abolished and absorbed into Wallington Demense Civil Parish.
