The Castles (camp)


'The Castles' (camp) a large stone-built enclosure, located near West Shipley Farm, Hamsterley, in County Durham. It is believed to be the remains of a fortified site of Late Iron Age, Romano-British or post-Roman date - though it's exact age is uncertain. The Castles is a Scheduled Monument.
