The Barracks, Acomb

The Barracks is a large stone house on Main Street in Acomb, Northumberland. The building is dated 1730 with the initials J.F. on the door lintel. The Barracks is said to derive its name from a history of being used as lodgings for colliers and lead miners. In the past it was a pair of separte dwellings. The building is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
