Skelwith and District Community Centre

Skelwith and District Community Centre is located a short distance south of Skelwith Bridge. The centre is run by the Skelwith and District Community Trust, a registered charity. The hall is available to hire. The building itself dates from 1857, and opened as a Church of England School in 1863. The school closed in the 1970s, and later the building was refurbished as a Community Centre. The centre was officially opened by the sculptor and artist Josefina de Vasconcellos, on the 11th October 1980.
