Sills, Northumberland
Sills Farm is located about 1½ miles north of Rochester in Northumberland and is situated within the MOD Otterburn Training Area. Whellan's directory of Northumberland for 1855 lists Sills under Rochester township in the ancient parish of Elsdon, and the farmer at that time were William Douglas[1]. Today, Sills is part of Rochester and Byrness Civil Parish.
