News and Star, 9th May 2016. "MARYPORT'S lighthouse is to be restored thanks to a £50,000 government grant. The octagonal cylindrical lighthouse built in 1846 stands on the bend of the dock wall on the south pier.....It is one of 15 projects along the Great British coast to benefit from a share of £700,000 of government funding aimed at regenerating seaside towns...."
