Site of former dam on Devil's Water, above footbridge

  • Description

"View from the footbridge, upstream. A view in the opposite direction is here [[3245601]] The dam here probably replaced the old dam situated some distance down-river [[3245585]]. It probably provided a better supply of water to the long mill race that supplied the Dukesfield Smelt Mill during a period of expansion in its operation around 1750." Photo by Andrew Curtis, 2012.
