Beacon Tower

Penrith

  • Description

"This was built in 1719 on the site of earlier beacons, and was repaired in 1780. The metal disc in the foreground has lines to give the direction of the surrounding mountains, but a local walker told me that they can no longer be seen due to the trees." Photo by Humphrey Bolton, 2009.
