PoW Feature - Wooler Camp 105

  • Description

Northumberland Gazette, 2nd April 2004. By Dr J.Anthony Hellen. "NO plan survives of Camp 105 Wooler, but the records show that it had a capacity for 600 men during the short Italian period, which subsequently remained largely unchanged. A total of 1,430 was reached by December, 1947, when all the hostels and the men billeted on farms (285) were included. From the few contemporary photographs, it appears to have had four main lines of huts in a grid-iron pattern, perhaps 30 in all...."
