    "The Eco Centre was designed and built by Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle (STAN) and opened in 1996. The building was a pioneering venture to demonstrate renewable technologies and sustainable design. Today the Eco Centre remains one of Europe's most sustainable buildings. Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria.
