  • Description

"View northward, towards Durham, Newcastle etc.: ex-NE ECML. The Class H freight is headed by an ex-WD 'Austerity' in unusually smart, ex-Works condition. No. 90309, which started life as WD 7445 (later 77445) in 2/44 and was one of the only 50 (out of 450) put to work on the SR before its war service in NW Europe; it worked from Eastleigh until sent over in 12/44 and in 3/47 was back in England working on the LNER from Immingham, later at several other ER/NER Depots as No 90309, until eventually withdrawn in 7/67.
