    "Chinatown is at the heart of the Chinese community in Newcastle and will be the focal point of Chinese New Year celebrations. The district is located to the west of Newcastle city centre on the edge of the shopping district, mostly along Stowell Street. It is one of only five Chinatowns in England, with the other four being in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool. Newcastle’s Chinatown on Stowell Street was founded in 1978, with Wing Hong Chinese Supermarket being the first Chinese business after it relocated from Westgate Road, three decades after the first Chinese immigrants came to settle in the North East....."
