    "Monk Hesleden Parish consists of a number of Wards; Blackhall Colliery, Blackhall Rocks, Crimdon, Hesleden, High Hesleden and Monk Hesleden. The majority of the population is based in Blackhall Colliery and Blackhall Rocks; these are linear ex-coalfield villages which lie between Horden and Hartlepool on the East Durham Coast. The Parish Council has 15 seats with 8 serving Councillors...."
