  • Description

Photograph of Lynn Street taken by John Boagey, 1963. The photograph shows various shops on Lynn Street between Musgrave Street and Freeman Street including the large sign for the Empire theatre and picture house. Lynn Street was one of the main retail areas of Hartlepool and although the road still exists, most of the buildings were dismantled around 1968 following the building of the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre.
