THE ROMAN FORT - CORBRIDGE

  • Description

These impressive remains include a fountain house with an aqueduct, a pair of granaries and walled compounds for the military, featuring barracks, temples, and living quarters. There is a headquarters building with a below-ground strongroom. Lots of discovered arefacts can be seen in the museum, another bit of our history maintained by English Heritage. Hadrian's Wall runs close by the fort and enjoys World Heritage status.
