    Type : Photograph Medium : Print-black-and-white Description : Roman Altar found in the Tyne dedicated to the god Oceanus.It is believed to have been placed on the Roman bridge over the Tyne which was built on the present site of the Swing Bridge. The altar was built circa 120AD by the 6th Legion. A second altar also placed on the bridge was dedicated to the god Neptune.
