In the foreground to the left there is flight of stairs which leads up to the buildings on the left-hand side of the street. The buildings have a shop on the ground floor and tenements on the upper floors. A group of men are standing outside one of the shops. There is a wall on the righ-hand side of Pilgrim Street.
