Type : Lantern Slide Description : A view of the Sandhill Newcastle upon Tyne taken c.1905. The Guildhall is in the foreground to the left. The row of buildings on the right-hand side of the Sandhill include Surtees House and Milbank House. A 'cafe and cocoa rooms' is on the ground floor of the Surtees House. Groups of men are standing in front of the Guildhall. Horse-drawn vehicles are travelling along the road. The High Level Bridge can be seen in the background.
