Type : Lantern Slide Description : A view of Newgate Street Newcastle upon Tyne taken in 1911. The street is decorated for the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary. 'H. Samuel' (Jewellers) is in the foreground to the left and the entrance to Grainger Street is to the right. The 'Albion' public house is next to 'H. Samuel' with the 'Empire Palace' theatre beyond. Groups of men and boys are standing in Newgate Street.
