This photograph is a view of the Forth Banks trough sections and embankment, 20th October 1978. This image is taken from a series documenting the excavation and construction of the north and southbound running tunnels between Jesmond, Haymarket, Monument and Central stations. The images are taken from the Mott, Hay and Anderson collection, consulting civil engineers responsible from the Tyneside Metro light rail system and the Tyne Pedestrian, cyclist and vehicular tunnels. The photographers were Turners (Photography) Ltd of 7-15 Pink Lane, Newcastle. Reference no.
