Halton Farm

  • Description

"In the fields both north and south of Halton Farm are the remains of the deserted medieval village of Halton first recorded in the C13th when it was reportedly quite large. By 1666 only four houses were recorded, including the castle. The sites of some of the medieval buildings can still be seen as grassy, earth platforms. An area of ridge and furrow shows the areas of medieval farming around the settlement. http://www.keystothepast.info/article/10339/Site-Details?PRN=N8672" Photo by Andrew Curtis, 2011.
