"The Wooler project has seen Roddam Dene House converted into four homes ans the former Wheatsheaf pub transformed into a further five....The Glendale Gateway Trust organised the conversions via the Government’s Empty Properties Programme, which aims to help regenerate town centres by giving vacant properties a new use. An innovative community bond scheme, which gave people the opportunity to invest in the future of their local area, raised £128,000 for the project, topped up by a donation of £50,000 from local Tory peer Lord Vinson through the Nigel Vinson Charitable Trust...."
