Rampside

  • Description

Photo, early 20th century. Looking southwest from a position on the tideline at Rampside at the last remaining 1875 leading light standing in the tide. Houses on the right overlook the view as does a further house along the coast on a promontory. A gas lamp stands sentry in between. On the horizon is the low outline of the south end of Walney Island while the more distinct silhouette of Roa Island stands in front, the tower of Villa Marina obvious on the right.
