The Rotunda, Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery

  • Description

"This building in Annetwell Street opened in 2001, along with the underground Millennium Gallery http://www.tulliehouse.co.uk/millennium-gallery . It contains a lift and steps to a subway under Castle Way dual carriageway, for pedestrian access to Carlisle Castle (right of railings - see [[1650396]] . The Rotunda was a compromise to the original Millennium scheme for this location (including some big glass pyramids), which was scrapped due to public protest.
