Stone 2

  • Description

The "Hundred Year Stone" sculpture on the shore at Broomhill Point, Calf Close Bay is a large boulder of Borrowdale volcanic rock. It was split and carved by Peter Randall-Page to commemorate the National Trust centenary in 1995. The sculpture is often half-submerged by the varying depths of Derwent Water and is often erroneously called the Millenium Stone by visitors.
