  • Description

"An anti-tank cylinder, in a horizontal position, almost blending in with the north-eastern parapet at Ford Bridge. These defences were usually made by pouring concrete into a length of drainage pipe, and like this example are 2' diameter and 3' tall. Another cylinder is in the River Till a short distance to the east and a third is believed to be in vegetation beside the bridge. This photograph was taken during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic of 2020." Photo by James T M Towill, 2020.
