    "House. Possibly C17 with C19 additions and alterations. Thinly-rendered sandstone and millstone grit rubble with quoins and ashlar dressings; C19 additions of coursed squared sandstone. Roofs stone-flagged and graduated Lakeland slate, with stone chimneys. U-plan with rear wings: first build 2 storeys, 5 irregular bays, the 2 left wider; right addition of 2 higher storeys, 2 windows. First build has added gabled open stone porch in third bay...."
