TOWN HALL - Guisborough - List Entry

    "Town Hall. 1821 (on site of former toll booth). 2nd floor added 1870. Dressed sandstone, hipped and gabled Welsh slate roof, stone gable copings and kneelers and ball finials to north gable. 4 stacks (east truncated). Bands between floors. 3 storeys, 5 bays to N. and S. elevations: symmetrical. Pilasters between 1st and 2nd and 4th and 5th bays supporting narrow simple moulded cornice, surmounted on north elevation, by shallow gable with cartouche bearing the arms of the Chaloner family. 3-bay segmental arcade to ground floor...."
