WW2 control tower (or watch office), Great Orton Airfield
-
Description
"RAF Great Orton, also known as Wiggonby, opened in 1943. For a few years after the war the airfield was used for bomb storage. It was sold in the 1960s, and much of the site was restored back to farmland. For more information, see Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust http://www.abct.org.uk/airfields/airfield-finder/great-orton/ . Zoom shot." Photo by Rose and Trev Clough, 2016. -
