Benchmark on east parapet of Westlinton Bridge

    "Ordnance Survey 1GL bolt benchmark described on the Bench Mark Database at www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm19706 . The mark was cut during the 1844/5 Carlisle to Sark Bridge 1GL Survey and levelled at 47.522 feet above Liverpool Datum. The surveyor's description was 'No. 14. Bolt in East pier of Line Bridge ; 2.19 ft. below mark on crown of battlement, and 1.37 ft. above surface'" Photo by Roger Templeman, 2021.
