    "This roof beam bears the partial inscription "...in Conntesse of Pembroke in anno ... 55 repaired all this building". Countess of Pembroke was one of the many titles of Lady Anne Clifford, with whom this church and town are closely associated. The incomplete date is therefore 1655." Photo by Stephen Craven, 2016.
